Well... Yeah. Sorry.

I'm putting Walnut Grove on hold for now. If you don't care about the details, all you need to know is this:

Walnut Grove will return in December/January.
(Hopefully.)

I understand if you choose not to follow this comic anymore because you are fed up with the inconsistency in updating. If you opt for this option, I thank you for reading.
With all sincerity, your readership means a lot to me. Every favorite, every comment, every rating brings a smile to my face, and I really thank you guys for the numerous smiles.

Now the part you and I dread...
Warning: Emo content to follow.
<rant>
- School sucks.
- I can't focus.
- I don't take anything seriously.
- I have immature emotional problems.

School sucks.
There's a lot of work to do, and it's not getting done.

I can't focus.
I am constantly getting distracted, and this comic is not helping at all.

I don't take anything seriously.
I choose to get distracted. I can't prioritize things, and I can't give attention to aspects of my life that truly deserve it. I'm 20 years old dammit. I need to grow up and take some responsibility.

I have immature emotional problems.
<insert whiny rant about being depressed>
Probably just a dopamine imbalance or something. I'll start running again for endorphins.

When I return, I will have my shit together.

Yours truly,
Ryan Imm

edit: Something from the rant was removed. I think it's better if people that I know in real life didn't read that part.

Ughhh college...

I am not doing as well as I would have hoped this semester, but I don't know how that will affect updating yet. I mean, every ten days is a very reasonable schedule to stick to. (For me at least. I'm sure you guys wouldn't mind more updates.) But if my grades start to decline more, I may have to update sporadically, or even worse, go on a hiatus.

Hopefully it doesn't come down to either one of those options, but I think that my education is far more important than this webcomic. I am putting active effort back into studying though, so I don't think a change in the update schedule will be necessary.

I think that you guys deserve to know what might happen in the near future though, so this is a heads up. I thank you for your patience, and for putting up with my crap.

News » Flu

God dammit cover your mouth when you cough

Winter is (slowly) on its way; I love it. One thing I do not love, however, is being sick. People are talking about the spread of the flu, and it's pretty obvious now: people have some pretty poor habits that do not help at all in trying to prevent the spread of influenza.

In case you didn't know:
Wash your hands frequently. I see some people leave the bathroom without washing their hands. What the hell? This is one of the easiest things you can do.
Cover your mouth when you cough. Need I explain this? Have some courtesy for those around you. On that note...
Stay home if you actually do get sick. One reason why the flu spreads is because your sick ass is exposing it to your peers. Please, stay home.
Be healthy. This is kind of straightforward, but I still need to mention it. Vitamin C, plenty of sleep, don't go running around in the rain, etc.

There are probably more things you can do to prevent influenza, but these are the ones from the top of my head. As you can see, these things are not that difficult to do.

Now, swine flu. I don't really know what you can do about that.. Evidence has shown that H1N1 also affects perfectly healthy adults, so just hope for the best. (And hope the people infected have the common sense to stay home.)

Stay healthy, my friends.

edit: The H1N1 vaccine is supposed to be available soon. Some people people are worried about the presence of mercury in these vaccines. To my knowledge, mercury has always been present in vaccinations, so I don't see why you would start to worry about it now. If someone can confirm/deny this, that would be great. I, for one, know that I want the vaccine. You skeptics can enjoy the swine flu if you want.

edit2: The World Health Organization says that the vaccines are safe. Of course their opinion can still be subject to change if something bad does happen, but an official statement from them is still nice.

I think it's safe to assume that not many of you read this news page, as it is not necessary to enjoy the comic. Hell, I'd be surprised if you even see this post. (Unless you're subscribed to my RSS feed. In that case, you're awesome!)

Anyways, I have decided to use this news page as a blog. I've always wanted to start one, but I never really got it off the ground. Don't expect much, but do expect something.

I can't even think of what else to write.. I guess I'll save that inspiration for future entries.

P.S. Added the update schedule onto the banner.
